Can lwjgl do platform indipendent key events?

Well that's the question
Key events press/release events behave in a madingly platform dependent way in normal Java, so I'm wondering if lwjgl has some kind of workaround/better system.

Yes, see Keyboard.isKeyDown() in the javadoc.
