i have no idea what that could be...
I had this error once and it disappeared when i recompressed the sound files...

anyway strange

same problem here:

I have exactly the same problem, but on Windows... It works on my PC, but not on some others... I have no idea! We have the same DLLs and so on...

Very funny: Someone told me, that it works only when WinAmp is running during the OpenAL-initialization of my game... When WinAmp is not running, the error appears.
Perhaps an initialization problem?

Perhaps we have a solution (for windows): There is a new .dll, version 1.1.4.0 or so (check links on openal.org). No one reported the problem again with the new .dll.
Perhaps there is also a new version für Linux available!

thank you!

I'll give that .dll a try..

did you mean OpenAL32.dll
from http://ftp://opensource.creative.com/pub/sdk/OpenAL11BetaSDK.zip
?

that .dll in that package has no version information...

It would be nice to say what .dll you took Smiley

i renamed that dll to lwjglaudio.dll

and my game works... but i haven't tested it on other machines, so i don't know if it fixed the problem...
