Using alt-tab in fullscreen mode in OS X - doesn't seem to work

It works fine in windowed mode, but in fullscreen mode, nothing happens. Is there some workaround, or am I missing something?

I'd settle for detecting that alt-tab is being pressed in-game and then minimizing the window, if there's a way to do that.

Using OS X 10.6 and LWJGL 2.72, btw.
